Teens Pack the House
Developing teen band, Active Bird Community, took to our stage last month in front of an excited crowd--just a few weeks before they opened for Men Without Hats in the city! We loved having such cool, enthusiastic energy in the space: at one point the band and audience spontaneously broke out chanting, "I say purple, you say crayon--Purple! Crayon! Purple! Crayon!" Keep your eyes out for more youth-oriented events and programs at the Purple Crayon later this year.

The Purple Crayon Diary
At the Visions and Values Workshop in September, life coach Greta Cowan inspired participants to powerfully shift what they see as possible for themselves. "I can't believe how much I got out of this," said one participant. "I'm refreshed and excited to get back to my work, and I've got a ton of new ideas. Working with Greta is like pressing a 'reset' button."

Giving Developing Acts a Shot
Part of the mission of Live!@The Purple Crayon, our flagship live music program, is to not only bring established artists to our local community, but to give promising developing acts the focus and exposure they need, by bringing them to our stage as main ticket artists. Uniquely at The Purple Crayon, developing bands can take a step forward by proving they can hold the same stage as nationally known performers on their own--NOT as an opening band, and NOT as a shared ticket. Are you a working musician, or are you in a band? Do you have a favorite group playing the local circuit that you'd love to see at The Purple Crayon? Let us check you out! Click on the "PLAY AT TPC" button on the Live!@The Purple Crayon website, or follow this link, to submit an artist. We have no rules about what kind of music belongs on our stage. We approach each act freshly, without preconceptions: both the famous artists AND the developing ones. So think outside the box! We can't wait to see - and hear! - who you come up with.
